Success Stories

Sara De Cruz

Senior SAP Recruiter

  • 5 years at Precision Sourcing, promoted to Senior SAP Recruitment Consultant in 2021
  • Highest billing quarter $230,000 AUD

“Joining Precision Sourcing has been the best career move I have made. My colleagues and leadership team have encouraged me to grow professionally, personally and to be the best version of myself. It is a workplace where I am happy to turn up every Monday, raring to go. They have given me the skills, tools and knowledge to show me that success is what I make of it. I will never regret my time at Precision and look forward to the years to come.”

Abby Van Rooyen

Principal SAP Recruiter

  • 1 engagement, 2 dogs, 1 baby and nearly 15 years at Precision Souring.
  • Last year, as a part time working Mum, I billed $759k

“Why did I mention the engagement, dogs and baby? Well because as much as they are an important part of how my life has been shaped over the last 15 years, so is my working life at Precision Sourcing. They are intertwined!

In 2009, I joined as a rookie with virtually no experience and I have worked my way up to a Principle Consultant whilst building my family. After maternity leave, I moved into recruiting within a different market and have never looked back. I have great people around me, a leadership team who support my personal life as well as my mental health and I earn more money than a lawyer who works 80 hours a week!”

Jay Wynter

SAP Team Lead

  • 9 years with Precision Sourcing
  • Precision Sourcing’s top billing consultant 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021
  • $6 million in billings in 7 years
  • RCSA Rising Star Award Winner 2019

“I joined Precision Sourcing at 24 years old with a small goal to get onto the property ladder by the time I was 30. I have had the chance to work with high performers and learn from some of the best recruiters in the industry who have given me all the tools to go far beyond that small goal I had.

Opportunity after opportunity has enabled me to grow professionally and as a person. I look forward to helping others achieve their milestones as the company grows.”

4 Day Week

Do you believe that someone who is healthy and happy is more likely to be productive and successful in their job?

Would you like to work within an environment and culture where your health and wellbeing is paramount?

Do you ever wonder why you’re working week follows the same time frames and parameters as that of your great great grandparents in the industrial revolution?

If the answer is yes, then read on as Precision Sourcing might just be the recruitment business for you.

After much research, consultation, advice and bickering we begun the 4 day week experiment in January 2021.

To be clear you get paid for 5 days.

We wanted to do something special to reward our super talented and high performing team for their contribution during COVID.

The experiment ended in August 2021 and now the 4 day week is embedded in the DNA of our business.

You can read more about why we made the decision here and also read our 4 day week FAQ’s below.

Record breaking quarters!

Employee engagement at unprecedented levels!

Productivity through the roof!

Happy team, happy customers and a general feeling of why did we not do this years ago.

Flexible Fridays

Emily Nota

Head of Data

“A 4-day week means I can work smarter and prioritise my health/wellbeing, which I know drives better outcomes and relationships. It doesn’t mean I don’t work a Friday when I need to; it just means I am mature enough to manage my own desk to ensure I put myself first. I will never go back to a strictly 5-day week. It’s been transformative to my life personally and professionally”

  • I will never go back to working a 5-day week. I have struggled with managing my overall health and energy levels since I was young. The extra day has allowed me to fully relax into the weekend, get ample amount of rest and be ready for the week ahead at 110% rather than teetering on the 70-80%.
  • It has dramatically shifted my productivity levels up. If you look at the stats, I am a much more successful recruiter than I was pre the 4-day week. It allows me to work efficiently and effectively without making work my entire life.
  • I think it’s important to recognise that other businesses still work on a Friday. Therefore, I mirror my clandidates on that day along with what else needs attention depending on how my week had gone prior. I love being able to choose what I do that day and being trusted to choose.

Joel Robinstein

Head of Client Services & Operations

“I can’t imagine ever going back to a full 5-day week. My team know they are trusted and in return give me their trust. If an important job needs to be done, we get it done on the Friday but at other times it’s great to have that Friday to yourself when you have smashed your weekly actions.”

  • The 5th day of my week being flexible has changed my life more than any other decision in my professional career. Being able to spend more time with my wife, who also went to a 4-day week has given us the opportunity to spend time with the person most important to us.
  • I have analysed the data from the last 2 years and my team’s productivity is through the roof. Giving them the ownership of their week, especially their Friday’s, has made it a more open conversation of what needs to be achieved. It also pushes the team harder to get their actions done so they can do what they wish at the end of the week.
  • You can never get away from the fact that some clients want to speak on a Friday so we need to be mature enough as professionals to still be on call on the Friday, although it is a lot easier to slot people in as we typically don’t have any internal meetings.

Craig Sibley

Project Management - Team Lead

High Productivity, High Performance, and most importantly Happy. No chance of going back to 5 days a week!”

  • I placed over 45 project managers last FY and had my most successful year ever whilst working a 4 day week. I did this by being productive,  working hard & smart. Friday’s play a huge part both in either allowing me to rest and enjoy a 3 day weekend or alternatively I could be at home, have my head down and focus on delivering to clients without the noise and distractions that come from being in the office or having internal meetings in my diary.
  • My physical and mental health is foundational to me, and I can now end the week with a positive energy and flow which means my weekends are more enjoyable due to the flexibility I have in my week now
  • Ticking off life admin, enjoying the outdoors, spending quality time with friends and getting time to switch off, rest and reset.

Kris Coulthard

Head of Project Services

“The 4 day week literally changed my life.  I could never go back to 5 days, I just don’t see the value in it.”

  • The 4 day week allows me to spend quality one on one time with my son that I otherwise wouldn’t get.  Working 4 days means that I’m more present as a Dad and can focus on family as much as possible.
  • Working only 4 days has pushed me to be more efficient and more effective with my working time.  I don’t get any less done in the week, I just have way less idle time. I’m still available on Friday for my clients and candidates and manage processes and offers as needed.  The fact that I can do that on the go whilst spending quality time with me some is invaluable.
  • When Monday morning rolls around I’m refreshed, rested and raring to go because of the extra down time that I’ve had. I wouldn’t change it for the world, and, I could never go back to 5 days a week.

Fiona Glover

Senior Javascript Recruitment Specialist

“The 4 day work week has been an absolute game changer for me; it’s difficult to describe just how positive it has been for my mental health. Recruitment can be a stressful job and I use to experience a lot of burn out from it. Now my manager encourages me to use Friday’s to my advantage, which makes it so much easier to unwind for the weekend and come back feeling refreshed on a Monday. The 4 day work week ultimately allows me to be better at my job and more present for my candidates and clients”.

  • The 4-day work week has really allowed me to prioritise my mental health and wellbeing. I don’t experience burn out like I used to because I have an extra day to focus on what’s important and destress.
  • I don’t think I could ever go back to a 5-day week because I’m so much happier and more productive now. I am a much more efficient and productive recruiter now than I was before the 4-day work week, and my motivation levels have significantly improved.
  • I still do bits of work on a Friday here and there to properly support my candidates and clients. The difference is my manager treats me like an adult – I’m not forced to do certain hours and I can manage my day as I see fit.

A Day In The Life

Bethany Nrekic

Senior SAP Recruitment Consultant

“I am a mother of 3 and have more on my plate than I care to admit. I therefore spend a lot of time upskilling myself outside of working hours. I’ve done courses on routines, visualisation exercises and more to help me keep track of all that I have going on both personally and professionally. I truly believe we should work to our strengths, and that all of us have different strengths. Mine is presentation and rapport building skills, so I spend much of my day marketing, keeping organised and building relationships with my clients and candidates”.

  • I get the best out of my workflow when I put work into my marketing strategy. I have a broad view of every conversation I have with clients, and constantly ask myself how else I can add value for clients, and what else we can get out of the conversation; whether it’s inviting them to events, booking in a podcast or helping them to market themselves better.
  • I work solely from home, so setting up my day for success is crucial. I have music playing in the background, I keep a candle lit and the kettle hot for constant access to tea and coffee, and I make sure to plan my day the night before so I don’t get distracted.
  • I work part time, so I book an average of 2 meetings per day when I need to build my desk, and 1 meeting per day when I am in resourcing mode.

Laura Nailard

Leader - BI Recruitment

My day can vary depending on what outcomes I have set for the week in my 30 minute weekly one on one with my team lead Joel Robinstein. This can change depending on what is happening on my desk. The time I have with my team lead gives me the opportunity to assess my goals from the previous week and where to spend my time in the week ahead. Also, to have another pair of eyes on my desk and ‘zoom out’ opportunity.

The day to day structure will consist of screening/meeting with clients & candidates f2f, take job specifications, formatting & sending CVs, booking in interviews, posting on LI and business development (via reverse marketing, LI messages and phone calls). The balance between each activity can change day by day as priorities change with candidates and clients.

My main aim is to create long term relationships within my BI network, understand what is happening in the Australian and NZ BI market and make sure I am able to match the timing of my candidate/client needs and give them the best service and recruitment experience in the BI market.

Here in the team, I attend and run coaching workshops to keep my recruitment skills sharp. At the moment I am going through a team lead development program with an external trainer, this happens on a monthly basis. Also, I help mentor and support other recruiters in the team to help them set up for the day/week, listen to phone calls with clients/candidates and attend f2f meetings with them.

As a team on a Thursday after work we will go for a drink to finish the week and once a month high achievers will go to directors dinner (dinner at a five star Sydney restaurant with a director, all expenses paid).

Each quarter we will have an incentive for the team deals target, this can include going to the a boat trip in Sydney Harbour, Opera House & dinner at Café Sydney, Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains or Byron Bay. Also, an incentive which is team or based on individuals that usually has a specific focus such as number of clients meetings attended, coding the CRM, walking challenge and more where a Westfield voucher or directors dinner is up for grabs.

Richard Shaw

Head of Strategic Sales

A day in the life of recruitment, this isn’t a simple question to answer as I need to be adaptable and agile in order to be able to manage my outcomes and deliverables week by week.

I arrive at the office 45 minutes early every day, this allows me some time to enjoy a coffee and plan my days without distractions and setting achievable outcomes that need to be met to maintain a successful recruitment desk.

The day to day structure will consist of client meetings where I will understand requirements and business needs, candidate resourcing hours which consist of screening/interviewing, LinkedIn posting and business development. The balance of the above is driven by the market and what’s going on at a certain time, I need to be able to adapt and prioritise my time accordingly. Alongside this I manage a Team within SAP, and my day also involves supporting and training my team, attending meetings, running workshops and continuous support to my team.

I am to help grow Precision Sourcing to become the #1 supplier across Australia and New Zealand and grow and nurture relationships with clients and candidates to enable me to give them the best service and experience in the market.

As a business we celebrate high performers and we will go out monthly to celebrate a Directors dinner where we go to 5 star restaurants including Café Sydney, Hubert, Rockpool, The Gidley & Bistecca.

Chay Walbeoff

Senior SAP Recruitment Consultant

“In my first full FY, I billed $564k within the SAP market. In order to do this, a lot of my success came from booking meeting with clients. In this 12 month period, I booked 148 meetings. In addition to booking meetings, I utilise LinkedIn by putting out personable, credible and valuable content on a daily basis.”

  • My day totally depends on what my objectives look like for the week and the open roles I am looking to deliver to. Usually I split my day in 2, focusing on delivery of candidates to my open jobs with the afternoon focusing on business development, booking meetings, floats and an additional candidate hour. I have a big focus on meetings as I have seen a lot of success come from booking meetings with clients and try as best as possible to adhere to booking a minimum of 3 meetings per week.
  • For my candidate work, I tend to use a mix of tools in order to attract dormant talent; 1) CRM system 2) LinkedIn 3) Hot list 4) Seek Talent. Having multiple approaches in my locker allows me to identify highly skilled suitable candidates that match my clients demand
  • The important thing to understand in the Australian market is the in depth reason someone is looking for a change. I use LinkedIn heavily when searching for suitable candidates however the downside to that is they may not be known to my network. In order to mitigate any risks, I really focus in depth on key driver’s, ideal role, ideal rate/salary, minimum rate/salary and exactly what they like and don’t like in an organisation/opportunity.

4 Day Week FAQs

Please note that TRUST is the underlying reason for the success of our 4 day week experiment. This would not be effective with employees who are di&*heads.

Monday to Thursday.

You have an OOO explaining that you work a 4 day week and there might be a delay in your response.  You have a voice mail explaining that you work a 4 day week and there might be a delay in response.  Every client and candidate email or call has different time expectations.  We expect you to respond in a timely manner that is appropriate to the circumstances of the email or call.

If you are not contactable and unable to respond to a client or candidate call or email then you book leave.

If the business isn’t performing it is highly likely that there are individuals who are not performing. Those individuals will therefore be exited from the business (following the appropriate processes and time scales).
