Joel lived his formative years across a range of locations in the UK and, after sampling all it had to offer, decided to make a move to Australia straight from university. After interviewing at Precision Sourcing he knew he had found the place for him and cancelled all other meetings. That decision proved to be a good one and after over five years he now sits as a manager in the Precision family. Currently managing the data and analytics function alongside a team of successful consultants, Joel is excited to be a big part of the continued business growth.
On a personal note, Joel is known for his prowess on the golf course, his ability to get gout from the tender age of 23, his positive nature and the odd shift that he works at The Wall.
What makes you unique in your field?
I have an unselfish nature and look to create positive outcomes for everyone I interact with both clients and candidates. I have been doing this for over five years in the same company, which is rare in recruitment, meaning my network is extensive and it has all been built in the one place.
Why do talented people trust you as a recruiter?
I feel the biggest part of recruitment is delivery. If you consistently do this, people trust you. Knowledge plays a large part of it, I genuinely know a lot about my market and am happy to share this information. I have also hired recruiters in the data team who share the same ethics and morals which means we deliver a consistent service.
What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest internal achievement is that I am a very happy person, you get one life so you may as well enjoy it. On a more personal level getting married to Nicole is the obvious one that changed my life. In the workplace I am pleased to have progressed so quickly in the 8 years I have been at Precision and am proud of my team.
What would your friends say about you?
That you won’t meet a more annoyingly positive person and that it is infectious. I am always able to put a positive spin on things. In addition, I’m loyal, empathetic and probably love a debate.
Who would you invite to a dinner party?
Obviously my wonderful partner. I would love to have the likes of; Jesus (to get to the bottom of things once and for all), Muhammad (same reason), Cleopatra, Dan Carlin, Genghis Khan, Pharaoh Khufu, Joe Rogan and the Queen.
