Insights Analyst (Marketing)


About The Role

As a Marketing Insights Analyst in the Data & Analytics team, you’ll work closely with the marketing team to shine a light on our marketing performance, aiming to create new and better ways to understand marketing scale and efficiency.
On a day to day basis, you can expect to:

  • Analyse and monitor all aspects of marketing campaign performance
  • Build and extend marketing dashboards in Tableau, creating views in SQL if needed
  • Suggest new and better ways to analyse VGW’s marketing performance
  • Working closely with
    • Other members of the team (architects, data engineers, data scientists, insight analysts)
    • Marketing teams and business unit General Managers and Product Owners
  • Gather and document requirements from stakeholders
  • Participate in standups, sprint planning sessions for teams and others as required

About You
You’ll be a Insights Analyst with a couple of years experience under your belt. The ideal candidate will have an Insight background in marketing but it isn’t an absolute dealbreaker.
To be successful in this role, you’ll also need:

Technical Knowhow

  • Strong understanding of SQL
  • Strong understanding of Tableau or other data visualisation tools
  • Expert knowledge of data visualisation principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of online digital advertising across Google AdWords, Facebook, etc. greatly advantageous
  • Knack for conceiving and rolling out better ways to measure business performance
  • Interpret large and complex data sets
  • Collaborate on SQL using Git/Github

Soft Skills

  • Innate curiosity and urge to get to the bottom of marketing and business problems
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Be a strong ambassador for the Marketing Science team with the wider business
  • Communicate complex concepts in simple, intuitive ways
  • Translate business problems into technical solutions
